How do we Serve the Community?
The C⁴ Alert Status Scales
C⁴ offers user-friendly Alert Scales that can be used to approximate the threat of a disaster.
The C⁴ Alert Status Scales are general scales that can be used to determine how much an event, disaster, or multiple events or disasters have the potential to disrupt the everyday
health and well-being of a population. The C⁴ Alert Status Scales are similar to other disaster readiness scales, such as the United States Defense Department’s DEFCON scale, or the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists’ Doomsday Clock.
C⁴ offers the following scales: one for the world as a whole, one for the United States, and one for Canada, as well as 5 subnational scales to seperate the United States into Regions.
The current alert statuses are reported in our official Discord server. Decisions regarding Alert Status are made by the C⁴ Administration team based on several factors, and each scale (Global, US, or Canada) is slightly different.
ALERT LEVELS DO NOT IMPLY THAT ANY SORT OF RESPONSE ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN. ALERT LEVELS ARE INTENDED FOR REFERENCIAL USE ONLY.
The C⁴ Resource Library
C⁴ offers a comprehensive library of useful links, ebooks, and resources for disaster preparedness and relief.
The C⁴ Team has compiled a comprehensive library of readily available, useful information, links, books, and resources; all of which can be found in our official Discord server.
We are also planning training events and discussions for the near future, so join in and stay tuned for updates.
Direct Radio Scanner Streaming
C⁴ provides direct streaming of EMS, Police, Fire, and Weather radio through our official Discord.
The C⁴ Team is actively developing a direct streaming system that routes worldwide radio scanners through a Discord bot with near-zero downtime.
We source our live audio using the broadcastify.com API paired with lavalink and weather radio from noaaweatherradio.org.
Tailored RSS and News Feeds
C⁴ offers tailored RSS and News feeds through our official Discord.
C⁴ provides a streamlined RSS feed that receives News headlines and natural disaster alerts for the US and Canada.
We strive to source our feeds from reliable, fact-checked outlets, such as the BBC and CBC, the GDACS world disaster event monitoring system, the NOAA, and Environment Canada.
